Meet your groomer
Hello, I’m Hannah.
I am the founder of Comb in the Country Dog Grooming.
I am also the one who gets the pleasure of grooming your dogs.
My journey
Before setting up my business with the goal of being the change that the dog grooming industry needs, I spent 7+ years as a zoo keeper working with the least hairiest animals your can get - reptiles.
While I was at college and university, I had decided that I either wanted to work in rescue centres with dogs or become a zoo keeper, working with wolves and bears.
After spending time in kennels for work placement, I left with a burst ear drum (from the noise of the kennels) and felt pretty sad. So, I decided that working in kennels was not the path I wanted to take.
Off I went to become a zoo keeper and along the way, fell head over heels in love with all things reptile.
I have worked with an amazing array of species throughout the years and feel incredibly lucky to have done so. But along with finding myself wanting to have more freedom to spend time with family and my dog, and my arthritic knees progressively getting worse year by year, I looked at different career paths.
My previous dog, Maddy, was an Irish Setter and she was beautiful. I often cut away at her hair just to make things practical for her and she was the one that prompted me to look into dog grooming. I got myself all signed up for my Level 3 Diploma in Dog Grooming and Salon Management with iPet and passed in 2023.
During my Level 3 Diploma, my current dog, Ty, entered my life and flipped everything I thought I knew about dogs upside down. Ty helped me find my way to holistic dog grooming, practise consent based methods and the art of cooperative care.
I wouldn’t be here without both of these wonderful dogs that I have been lucky enough to share my life with.
